The Hoka Clifton 11 is Hoka's daily trainer, built for easy runs and long runs where cushioning matters more than speed. Compared with the Clifton 10, the geometry and the CMEVA midsole stay the same. What is new is inside and on top: a softer open-cell insole, an engineered mesh upper and a double lace lock that holds the heel more securely.

The Hoka Clifton 11 GTX has a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit membrane bonded to the upper instead of a loose lining, which is why it still feels like a Clifton when you put it on. It weighs around 40 grams more and swaps the double lacing for a quick-lace system with a toggle. It makes sense if you often run in the rain or at night in winter; in summer or in dry weather you do not need the membrane. Online you will find the GTX in River Rocker and Alabaster, and the standard Clifton 11 in Boulder Grey, White Black and women's Pink.

What to use the Hoka Clifton for
