The UGG Ultra Mini is UGG's classic boot cut down to the ankle: the shaft stops at around 9 cm, so it slips on in seconds and shows off your whole trouser leg. It is made of 17 mm twinface sheepskin, with suede on the outside and fleece on the inside, an insole of the same thickness and a lightweight sole.

UGG Classic Ultra Mini or Ultra Mini Platform

The difference is underfoot. The UGG Classic Ultra Mini sits flat to the ground and is the most stable for longer walks. The Ultra Mini Platform keeps the same shaft of around 9 cm but adds a 5 cm platform with an EVA midsole, so you gain height without it looking like a tall boot. Note: according to UGG's product page, the Platform is lined with wool (UGGpure or UGGplush), not sheepskin. With wide-leg trousers covering part of the foot, the platform shows off more; with leggings or skinny jeans, the flat version looks more balanced.

Right now you can get the Ultra Mini online in Chestnut, Sand and Moonlight, and the UGG Classic Ultra Mini Platform in Chestnut and Sand. Chestnut is the classic camel brown and the best at hiding everyday wear; Sand brightens up any winter outfit, though it needs more care with stains.
