Adidas Samba Jane White Black Gum

A strap across the instep is what separates the Adidas Samba Jane White Black Gum from the classic Samba. It keeps the low profile, the suede T-toe, the serrated Three Stripes and the gum sole; the strap is what turns it into a Mary Jane, like a ballet flat.

In this colourway the base is white leather, the stripes are black and the caramel rubber sole adds warmth. It is the easiest Samba Jane to work in: black and white goes with almost everything already in your wardrobe.

Ideas for wearing it: with cropped straight jeans and fine white socks so the strap peeks out; with a pleated or satin midi skirt and a basic tee; or with grey suit trousers and an oversized blazer if you want something for the office. It works really well with coloured socks (red, burgundy or striped), because the open Mary Jane shape leaves them on show.

For care, a damp cloth is enough for the leather; the suede toe is best done with a dry brush.
