As we told you in previous posts, Newcop has opened the first store outside Europe, no less than in Dubai. To celebrate, we have been creating and taking part in several events, but without a doubt the most important was bringing Dubai our favourite ambassador: Pep Guardiola.
Style, culture, and leadership
The team from Esquire Middle East wanted to organise a new series of events under the motto '“In conversation with…” and that is where we came in as collaborators.
Although the event was called “in conversation”, it was not only in the name, it was a real conversation. Close and unfiltered, with someone who has not only won a lot but thinks through every step he takes.
The event took place at Marsa Boulevard, one of the most exclusive places in the thriving city of the United Arab Emirates, and Esquire made an excellent selection of guests that blended fashion, culture, and sport.
Guardiola’s conversation
Guardiola spoke about football, yes, but also about leadership, perseverance, and how something great is built from small beginnings. There was no smoke, only ideas. Ideas that connect with anyone who wants to do things well.
Throughout the talk, Pep did not use clichés or prepared speeches brought from home. He spoke like someone who has been at the top for years but still keeps his feet on the ground, analysing every detail as if it were the first time.
When asked what defines his career, he did not hesitate: “perseverance”. Plain and simple. Then came the phrase that drew laughter: “Working at the richest clubs helps, but it does not replace daily work.”
There were also more personal moments. He recalled City’s treble in 2023 as one of the great milestones but did not hide that this year has been tougher: "Football is like life, it comes in spells," he said with complete ease.
Newcop as collaborators
This was not just any event, and for Newcop it was not just another collaboration. We were there because we share more than style with Pep: we share a vision.
Guardiola was not only the guest of honour, he is also an ambassador of our brand, someone who represents the values that drive us. During the event, he spent time greeting attendees before going on stage. Approachable, unhurried, like someone who knows that the important thing is not to impress but to connect.

That is why being part of this meeting felt natural. Because when it comes to leadership with style, we want to be in the room. And if it is in Dubai, even better.
